Ludocity Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 October 2026 · Version 0.1

The Italian version is the original; this is a courtesy translation. If they differ, the Italian text prevails.

These terms govern the use of Ludocity: the website ludocity.app and the app, also at play.ludocity.app. By using it, or by creating an account, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. Who we are and what we offer

Ludocity is a service of walking treasure hunts in real places: you choose a world, go there, answer questions about the places, take a few photos, and collect stamps and badges. The service is offered by Federico Gualdi, Via Covignano, Rimini 47923, contact: support@ludocity.app.

At the moment the service is free. If we introduce paid services in future, we will show you the price, renewals and how to cancel next to the purchase button, before any payment.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 14 years old; at sign-up we ask you to confirm it. If you are under 18, use Ludocity only with the consent of a parent or of whoever is responsible for you, who should know the routes you take.

3. Your account

  • Give true details and keep them up to date; choose a username that does not offend anyone and is not another person's name.
  • Protect your password: you are responsible for what happens with your account. If you think someone used it, write to us.
  • An account is personal. You can delete it whenever you like from the app, under "Account".

4. Playing safely

Ludocity takes you out of the house. You decide where to go and how: play with care.

  • Watch where you walk. Cross where it is allowed, respect traffic, do not use your phone while crossing the street, keep your eyes off the screen near stairs, slopes or water.
  • If you drive, do not drink. Worlds may suggest tasting food and wine: it is always optional, and you do not need to drink alcohol to finish the game. If you drink, do not drive.
  • Respect private property, opening hours, no-entry signs, places of worship and places of memory (where you read and listen in silence, without playing).
  • Take weather, timetables, health and fitness into account. Some stops need climbs or unpaved roads.
  • If you play with minors, go with them.
  • In an emergency call 112. Ludocity is not a rescue service.

5. How to behave

You may not:

  • cheat, for example by faking your location, using automated tools or sharing answers so as to alter the leaderboard;
  • insult, harass or threaten other people, or choose an offensive or misleading username;
  • take photos that violate others' privacy (recognisable people without their consent, minors, private interiors);
  • upload content that is unlawful, violent, obscene or that violates others' rights;
  • try to access what is not yours, bypass protections, overload the service or copy it in bulk (scraping, extraction of content);
  • use Ludocity for commercial purposes without our written agreement.

6. Your photos and your content

The photos you take for stops remain yours. You allow us to store and use them only to run the check of the stop and, in future, to show them to the organizer of the world to check it, for the time stated in the privacy policy. We do not publish them and do not use them for anything else. You guarantee that you took them and that you do not violate others' rights.

If you upload other content (for example by creating a world), the rules of section 8 apply.

7. Ludocity's content

The texts, stories, images, trademarks, the name Ludocity, the software and the look of the service are ours (or of those who licensed them to us) and are protected. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service to play. You may not copy, sell or reuse them without our permission. The historical facts in the worlds come from public sources and we state them; texts that draw on freely licensed material (for example Wikipedia) remain subject to that licence.

8. If you create a world (organizers)

If you create a world, besides the above:

  • You are responsible for what you publish: texts, images, logos, places, questions, prizes. You guarantee you have the rights to them and that they are truthful. You grant Ludocity the right to show them in the service for as long as the world is active.
  • Safe routes: do not point to dangerous, forbidden or private places without permission, and do not ask for actions that require breaking a prohibition or taking a risk.
  • Prizes: whoever offers a prize (you or a partner) is solely responsible for it, for its delivery and for complying with the rules (including those on contests and prize promotions, Italian D.P.R. 430/2001). Ludocity is not a party to the delivery of a prize.
  • Players' data: you see players' usernames and their progress in your world (and, where provided, the photos of stops). For that data you are an independent controller: use it only to run the world, not to contact players or for marketing, do not share or publish it, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
  • We may remove content or suspend a world that violates these terms or the law.

9. Prizes, stamps and badges

Stamps and digital badges are game symbols: they have no cash value and are not transferable. Any prizes offered by third parties depend on them and may change or end. We do not guarantee that a prize is available.

10. Reporting content

If you find content that is unlawful or that violates your rights (a world, a username, a photo), report it to abuse@ludocity.app or with the "Report" button in the app, saying where it is and why. We assess it without undue delay and reply to you; if we remove content, we tell whoever published it and explain why.

11. Availability and changes to the service

Ludocity is under development. We do our best for it to work, but it may be interrupted, slow or change; worlds may be changed or closed. If we change something important, we tell you.

12. Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or the law, explaining why. You can close yours at any time. On closure the deletion rules described in the privacy policy apply.

13. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where the law does not allow it (for example for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for personal injury, or for consumers' mandatory rights). For the rest, Ludocity is provided "as is": we are not liable for indirect damages, nor for what happens outside the service (the street, the places, the venues, partners' prizes), nor for interruptions due to causes we do not control. The game takes place in real places and under your responsibility: see section 4.

14. Your data

How we process your personal data is explained in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

15. Changes to the terms

If we change these terms, we update the date and version and, if the change is significant, we tell you in the app or by email and ask you to accept them again. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

16. Governing law and courts

Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain valid and you may go to the court of the place where you live. For other users the competent court is that of Rimini.
